TYLER TEXAS This is going to be a long news letter with lots of photos so save it till you can read when you are not in a hurry. New Hampshire Recount Funds update at the bottom. First a little humor: While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. 'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.' 'No problem, just let me in,' says the man. 'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.' 'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the senator. 'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.' And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the e levator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St Peter is waiting for him. 'Now it's time to visit heaven.' So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns. 'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.' The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.' So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the senator. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?' The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning...... Today you voted.
While waiting for the Radio show to start we were happily comandeered by Wayne Paul ( Ron's baby brother) I had met him at the Texas Straw Poll and knew who he was but Mike and Chris had no idea so when I pulled them into the RV and handed him my headphones and mike they both were looking at me like I had lost my marbles... When Wayne saw their looks he quickly introduced himself and their faces just lit up. They were so impressed with him and his wife as I am every time I meet the man. He is so much like his brother and so well spoken, humble and kind especially to us no body's doing the best we can to promote his big brother. Wayne stayed on for the entire hour with Dean Santoro from Miami and thankfully Dean was on as our connection to the radio station was broken, Dean realized something was wrong and just kept on talking and kept the show on the air till we figured out how to fix the problem. What a trooper, he ( Dean) will make a wonderful Congressman when he wins his election in Miami. We all enjoyed Mr Paul so much both on the air and at the conference. Ron doesn't have a better promoter anywhere than his own brother. While speaking to Mr Paul a CPA by trade, he agreed to take on the management of fundraising for a couple of projects we have in the works.. First the Ron Paul Racing ( www.ronpaulracing.com ) and the Grassroots National Hq. where we are going to raise funds to get Congressmen and Senators elected that are running on a Ron Paul type of platform. We need to start on this gathering all of us Revolutionarys together into a huge block of support for these people. We have to have people in Congress and the Senate to support Dr Paul as the President.
We met Nancy Falstar at the airport for the Press conference for her event. Nancy is a great event planner, everything was thought of even the sign for meeting Larry Pratt of the Gunowners of America at the terminal.. Mike Badnerik, Alan Stang and Judith McCreary were all there waiting for Mr Pratt to arrive. I just loved Micheal's sense of raw humor. He is afraid of nothing and is so open with his opinions of this Government.. He opened his coat and jokingly showed us the bullet holes.
After the speaches the fun began. Music by the Bluegrass boys and later by the Blues brothers meant dancing by the kids old and young alike.s
After the ball was over Micheal came to the RV to continue to indoctrinate Mike and Chris along with Mark Holmes who is fighting the TTC in Texas like a Titan. The man is unstoppable, he and Jeff Ritz make a great team to help the Texas Citizens fight the take over of the Highways by the Highway Robbers. I cannot believe the people of Texas are going to let this happen in their state. Gov. Perry needs to be impeached for his collusion with this boondoggle to remove property from the people of Texas who he is supposed to be representing. As my husband would say,"It's a sad sad thing!".
While Mr. Badnarik was signing our RV (yep another VIP signature) Nancy and Lisa had a deep conversation. 7 With the end of the day coming on I was ready to go to bed and get some rest, it has been a long and tiring week with so many stops and starts and talking to people I am exhausted.. We got up this morning ( Sunday) and I find out we are on our way to AR. to try and rally some support for Super Tuesday there and in Tenn. then on to Ga and Fla. People say a prayer these old bones will take the wear and tear and the RV holds up under these hard runs. We must make sure Ron is on that ballot if at all possible. I am going to do my best and hope each of you does as much as you can do also. I will end this message with a beautiful sight. The Liberty Bell, you have no idea of the wonderful sound this bell has. It is awe inspiring.
Update on NH funds: Tally from the Recount Chip In 1/25/2008 Total amount collected: $65,030.00 Minus uncomfirmed donations:$ 3,535.00 minus paypal fees: $ 1,800.00 ( paypal fees deducted from donations) This is an estimate done via the fees charged per $100. It could be a little more or a little less. When I have more time I will go and add up each fee and let you all know the exact totals. True total of income $60,695.00 Donations that did not go though or are still pending: ( some credit cards were over limit or were not confirmed by donor and some were pending due to donors not responding to confirmation messages?) These funds were reported as donations on chip in but did not appear on paypal as income. We contacted Paypal and were assured that it is nothing they are doing but the different card company's will ask for confirmation on some internet transactions and if not responded to will not release the funds. Some of the E checks may be confirmed but the limit is I am thinking 10 days then they will be removed from our paypal overview sheet. Our funds are needed to keep us on the road every day promoting Dr. Paul. A check for Mr. Howard is being held by Eric until the funds are available in my personal bank account for $2,000.00. Should I cancel that check we would be in the black once again but that would leave Eric holding the bag as he has fronted Albert quite a bit of that money all ready from his pocket. Just yesterday I talked to Eric and found that a individual has made arangements to pay for Mr. Howards TOTAL expenses in NH so we do not need to raise any more money for that purpose. Thank you ( individual providing these funds) for stepping in and helping out. We all appreciate this.
