Fort Lauderdale

Land of Bathing Beauties and Lavish Yachts and Ron Paul Support

After a week of rest and fun with the family it is time to again get on the road and back to work. Ron Paul Supporters are waiting. Fort Lauderdale, a 3 hour drive from Bonita Springs Beach, right though the Big Cypress Swamp ( our old home place) and lots of changes from the way it used to be is a beautiful and scenic drive. I love the swamps and the smells, animals, people and prolific plant life. Makes you glad to be alive to take it all in. Sad to see the landscape being eaten away by civilization.

From the end of Alligator Alley in Davie we started seeing signs that Fla is a Ron Paul state. Signs were spotted along the highways all the way to Ft. Lauderdale. I never saw another political sign anywhere other than the Ron Paul ones. Now that is a first.

When we first arrived and looking for the site we came across this fellow putting up signs all over the streets. We stopped and asked directions and good grief.. we were there ! The fellow Scott just happened to be the very one we were looking for as he was bringing T Shirts for the Grannys to sell. Seems like everything was falling into place nicely. Scott a really great guy was so helpful and generous. He had over 150 shirts and Lord knows how many of the Bracelets for us and allows us to pay him when we sell the items.. Now that is a trusting and good supporter. He even helped us take our sales items about a block to the waterfront where everyone congregated and then helped to sell the items. I appreciate people like this more than I could ever express.

While getting set up and parked the RV was as usual the hub of visitors, even a local cop was taking photos of us, I asked if it was official and he said No, just taking them for myself and he was a Ron Paul supporter so I took one of him which as you see didn't really come out so good.. He asked me to please not do anything funny with the photo like putting a elephants butt on his head or something and not to take it with the RV in the back ground as he could lose his job. I complied and as you note there is no elephant butt on his head...It was nice to meet a officer that we can probably depend on to be fair and actually uphold his oath of office in the event of some disaster. I get so busy talking to people I forget to take photos most of the time. The nice couple on the second row were all ready to move away from the country, they live in a sail boat and were planning on just sailing around the world until they heard Ron Paul was running for President and decided to put a hold on their departure in order to work to get him elected and not have to move out of the country.

The Debates about to begin so all the Candidates were brought down the river on a really fantastic yacht, all seemed to be friendly and in good spirits as they debarked. I will not give names as you can see who they are and frankly I get Cox and ??? mixed up. If you take notice none of the so called top tier appeared? I guess they were afraid to have to actually answer the questions put out by a Christian Group.

I have no idea of what got under Carol's bonnet here but it looks like she is giving Hunter a good talking to.

The debate went well and the rally afterwards was as always full of fun good spirits. We met the new baby on the block so to speak. The new Fundraiser hired by Kent Snyder, all of 24 years old. I was rather shocked when he came by and wanted to know if he could share a table with us as we were getting most of the crowd at our table and they wanted to try to collect some donations there? I was nice but told him no we were not collecting donations for the campaign committee but for our gas fund.. He didn't understand really I don't think. I was also shocked that such a young person was in charge of fundraising. I would have thought that the fundraiser would have been someone with connections and contacts with the people who are able to raise money for political objectives?

The highlight of the evening for me was this huge ocean going Tug Boat all decked out with huge Ron Paul signs and lights going up and down the river.. Whoever arranged this was a genius.. Everyone saw this as it couldn't be missed with that huge fog horn sounding every couple of minutes to draw even more attention to the Ron Paul Tug. But Mike Huckleberry did have his entourage at the end of the block.... not a soul around to cheer him on, not even the driver was visible.

We met some really super people in Ft. Lauderdale including a candidate for Congress Dean Santoro, what a genuine man and supporting Ron Paul to the hilt. His wife and Mother were at the debates and rally and worked hard helping us, talking to people and gaining more support for Dr. Paul. I hope you will all go to his website and look at his stance and platform. We need more people like this running for office to help Dr. Paul once he is elected and will have some support in the Congress and Senate.

Dean is a great animal lover also, the photo below looks like he is blonde but actually that is his little Yorkie on his head... It was a lot of fun talking to and spending time with his beautiful wife and Mother. Please go to his web site and if you are in his district make sure to contact him and give him your support.. even if you are not in his district send him your well wishes. DEAN SANTORO

We are now in Columbia SC where we will be attending a Straw Poll and rally this evening, then on to Asheville and a few days of cleaning up, getting this thing ready to head for Maryland where another debate will be taking place on the 26th and then from there to New Hampshire for the Walk about with Ron and his family.

This has been a extremly hard 2 months with constant travel and expenses but so far we have made it thanks to your generosity. I want to thank every one of you for your help and let you all know it has been used to the best of our ability to promote Dr. Paul and we will continue to do so.

Until Next week and the update on tonights rally, have a good week and talk to a lot of people about our candidate, if we don't win this election we have very little chance of maintaining the way of life we wish to live.

Thank you all for your support.

For those of you that have a problem seeing the photos go to the website:
